Spectacle Blinds
Figure-8 blinds for positive line isolation per ASME B16.48
Spectacle blinds, also called figure-8 blinds, consist of two discs connected by a flat bar: one solid blind disc and one open ring spacer. They are installed between flanges in a piping system to provide positive shutoff during maintenance or to isolate sections of process piping. Rotating the spectacle blind 180 degrees switches between the open and closed positions. Dimensions conform to ASME B16.48 and match the corresponding flange class and size.
