Long Weld Neck Standard Flanges
Extended hub flanges per MSS SP-97 for vessel and equipment nozzles
Long weld neck (LWN) flanges per MSS SP-97 feature an extended hub that serves as both a nozzle neck and a flange in a single forged piece. By eliminating the separate pipe-to-flange weld, LWN flanges reduce fabrication time and the number of weld inspections required at vessel nozzles. They are widely used on pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and other equipment where nozzle projections must extend through insulation or vessel skirts.
