Class 600 Studding Outlets

Class 600 Studding Outlets provide high-pressure flanged branch connections for demanding process applications. The increased pressure rating requires a thicker base pad and heavier flange section compared to lower classes, and the weld between the base pad and the header pipe must be designed for the full Class 600 pressure loading.

At Class 600, the self-reinforcing capability of the studding outlet becomes particularly valuable, as separate reinforcing pad calculations and fabrication are more complex at higher pressures. The integral reinforcement provided by the forged pad section exceeds the minimum code requirements for most common outlet-to-header size ratios.

These studding outlets are used in high-pressure hydrocarbon processing, steam systems, and chemical synthesis piping. Applications include pressure gauge connections, thermowell installations, safety valve inlet connections, and small-bore process branch lines on high-pressure headers.
