Studding Outlet
Class 150 Studding Outlets
Studding outlet flanges for Class 150 piping and vessels
Class 150 Studding Outlets provide convenient flanged branch connections on pipe headers and vessel shells for low-pressure service. The one-piece forged design incorporates a contoured base pad that matches the header pipe OD and a standard Class 150 raised face flange, eliminating the need for separate reinforcing pads, nozzle pipes, and flange welds.
The self-reinforcing design of the studding outlet means the integral pad provides the reinforcement area required by ASME code, often eliminating the need for separate calculations per UG-37. This simplifies both engineering and fabrication, reducing the total cost of branch connections on multi-outlet headers.
Class 150 studding outlets are widely used on cooling water headers, utility piping manifolds, and low-pressure process distribution systems. Outlet sizes typically range from NPS 3/4 through NPS 4 on header sizes from NPS 2 through NPS 36, covering the most common instrument tap and small branch connection requirements.
